WEST POINT (07/01/25) — A Hardin County couple was arrested after being found unresponsive in a car with their baby and drugs inside. Authorities responding to a boat ramp parking lot at West Point on a welfare check Tuesday morning found Christopher Burns and Kiera Fizer in the vehicle windows down, engine off, and a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. The baby was wearing only a diaper and was crawling around the front passenger side, within reach of drugs and a loaded handgun. The couple was revived but refused medical treatment. Burns and Fizer were lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on trafficking, possession and child endangerment charges. Child Protective Services took custody of the infant after medical evaluation.
