FANCY FARM (06/30/25) — Despite there being no statewide election in Kentucky this year, organizers of the annual Fancy Farm picnic are making plans for the August event at the St. Jerome’s parish in Graves County by adding a new list of speakers being invited to participate. For this year’s event, invitations will be extended to candidates in the 2026 primaries as well as the traditional statewide Constitutional and General Assembly officers. The 2026 primaries will see Republicans and Democrats vying for the nomination to succeed U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, who is not seeking re-election. The picnic’s speeches are regarded as the ceremonial kickoff to the fall campaign season in Kentucky.
