BOWLING GREEN (07/01/25) — Defense attorneys will begin presenting their case Wednesday in the trial of two men charged in the alleged 2015 death of Bardstown woman Crystal Rogers. Counsel for Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson asked for a directed verdict of acquittal after the Commonwealth rested its case Tuesday, citing no body, weapon or motive was presented for Rogers’ suspected death, but Judge Charles Simms denied the motion, saying enough evidence has been presented for the trial to move forward.
