CECILIA (04/16/25) — Authorities say a man was killed in an accident near Cecilia Monday afternoon. The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office posted that deputies were called to the 2600 block of Kentucky 86 around 4:30 Eastern Monday on a report of a two-vehicle accident. Their preliminary investigation determined a motorcycle operated by 47-year-old Joseph Poddom of Eastview was traveling west on 86 when he attempted to pass another vehicle but struck it when the 2nd vehicle attempted to make a left turn. Poddom died later at Baptist Health Hardin, with the other driver also transported for non-life threatening injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
