The Hardinsburg City Council discussed the city’s proposed budget during a special called meeting Wednesday evening. During a 45 minute discussion, council members approved the second reading of the proposed $8,482,089 budget on a 5 to 1 vote.
The council approved a resolution to enter into a lease agreement with Lease Serving Center, Inc. for the purpose of purchasing a new garbage truck in the amount of $275,074.74. The city will make the purchase with two payments of $146,827.42.
The first payment will be upon delivery of the truck in July and then the second payment in July 2026.
