
The Hardinsburg City Council approved the second reading of an ordinance adopting the amended budget for the current 2024/25 Fiscal Year at a Special Called Meeting Wednesday afternoon. Total revenues are $9,581,965 and total expenditures are $9,544,777. The vote was 4-1, with Councilman Jerry Dubree voting “no”. Council members Quinten Brown and Susan Shelman did not attend the meeting.
The Council will have a Special Called Meeting June 18 at 5:00pm to adopt the 2025/26 Fiscal Year budget.
In other business, the Council approved the second reading of an ordinance amending water rates. The new ordinance adopts two water rates-one for in town residents and one for out of town residents.
The Council approved the second reading of an ordinance amending existing water and sewer connection fees. The amendment says that at the time of installation of a water meter, the customer shall be responsible for the minimum monthly water usage bill or for the amount of actual usage, whichever is higher.
