CORYDON, Ky. (06/09/25) — Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Henderson County on Monday. Deputies responding to a report of a male threatening family members with a machete in the Corydon community found 64-year-old Charles Powell Junior of Corydon. Powell refused to drop the machete and came at the responding deputy. The deputy discharged his agency-issued firearm, striking Powell who died later en route to a hospital., No officers were injured during the incident, and the investigation remains ongoing.
