HARDINSBURG (06/07/25) — The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department is advising residents to be aware of the latest texting scam involving supposed unpaid parking tickets. The scam involves a text claiming to be from the “Kentucky Department of Motor Vehicles” stating the recipient has an outstanding parking ticket, demanding payment or facing suspension of driving privileges, massive service fees and potential impact to credit score. Do not pay or respond to such texts as the state would not send such notifications by text message.
