McQUADY (06/07/25) — Units from Hardinsburg and McDaniels Fire Departments were called to the McQuady General Store early Saturday morning on a report of smoke in the building. According to Hardinsburg Chief Nathan Smith, units arriving at the scene just after 4am found smoke in the building and coming from the eve. Firefighters found the seat of the fire in a bathroom vent. It was extinguished with the building ventilated and inspected by the County Health Department, then turned back over to the owners. Smith told WXBC News that the owners expect to have the store re-opened later today.
