BOWLING GREEN (05/27/25) — The trial of one of three men charged in connection to the disappearance and suspected death of Bardstown resident Crystal Rogers got underway Tuesday in Bowling Green. 54-year-old Steven Lawson is charged with conspiracy to commit murder and tampering with physical evidence. Defense attorneys acknowledged the evidence tampering count, saying Lawson had adjusted the driver’s seat in Rogers’ vehicle while helping his son, who had driven it until getting a flat tire. However, counsel denied the conspiracy charge. Lawson’s son, Joseph and Rogers former boyfriend, Brooks Houck, are scheduled to be tried later in the month. The presiding judge moved the trial from Nelson County to Bowling Green due to pretrial publicity and further barred cameras or electronic devices from the courtroom.
