Former Elizabethtown Resident Sentenced To Prison And Restitution To Fraud Charges

BOWLING GREEN (05/27/25) — A former Elizabethtown resident has been sentenced to prison time and restitution for engaging in a conspiracy to commit health care fraud in connection with durable medical equipment businesses. 54-year-old Pedro Reyes, was sentenced to 33 months in prison with supervised release and ordered to pay over six million dollars in restitution. There is no parole in the federal system. Authorities alleged Reyes fraudulently billed Medicare for medical equipment that was medically unnecessary and unwanted by patients, and not prescribed by the patients’ medical providers.
