State politics made a stop in Hardinsburg Thursday (5/15) afternoon as Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Pamela Stevenson spoke to a small gathering of local democrats at the old courthouse.

Stevenson is currently the 43 District State Representative from Louisville and serves as the Minority Floor Leader for the Democratic Caucus. Stevenson served in the Air Force as a JAG attorney for 27 years retiring at the rank of Colonel. She intends to spark change to the seat that has been held by Republican Mitch McConnell.

Among the topics that she discussed included paid healthcare reform, creating a responsive tax code for working families, strengthening services for veterans and protection for the future generations. The local stop was part of the first leg of campaigning across Western Kentucky.
