Eastern Kentucky Fire Chief Arrested For Theft Of Department Funds

HAZARD (04/28/25) — An eastern Kentucky fire department chief and his girlfriend have been arrested on charges of theft of money from the department. State Police detectives launched an investigation into allegations that Jakes Branch Chief Jamie Farris and his girlfriend, Sharla Stacy, were involved in the misappropriation of department funding. It was discovered that Farris used thousands of department funds for personal use. A Perry County grand jury returned indictments that led to the pair’s arrest.
