
(UPDATE: 11am Mon, 02/03) — One person was killed and another injured following a motorcycle accident in the 4100 block Kentucky Highway 259 South Sunday afternoon. The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department said a 2002 Honda operated by 51-year-old John Brown of Garfield was headed northbound on 259 when the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason. Brown attempted to correct, but the vehicle went into a ditch, causing it to overturn and eject Brown and passenger Leslie Sadler. Brown was transported to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS where he was pronounced dead. Sadler was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where she was listed in critical condition on Monday morning. The Harned, McDaniels and Hardinsburg Fire Departments assisted the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office on scene. The roadway was closed for a while to allow for reconstruction and cleanup of the scene.

WESTVIEW (02/02/25) — Emergency crews were called to a report of a motorcycle accident in the 4100 block of South Highway 259 around 2 pm Sunday afternoon. According to initial reports, a male patient was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS, while a female patient was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Evac. The Harned, McDaniels and Hardinsburg Fire Departments assisted the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office and Kentucky State Police at the scene. The roadway was closed for a while to allow for reconstruction and cleanup of the scene. No other details were immediately available.
