LOUISVILLE (01/08/25) — The mother of the infant child who died after drowning in a hotel bathtub on New Year’s Day has been arrested. Amber Winstead is charged with 2nd degree manslaughter; according to the arrest report Winstead used drugs prior to getting into the tub with the three-month-old infant at a Motel 6 location near the Louisville International Airport. She was awakened by another person hours later, but in that time, the baby submerged in the tub and drowned. An arraignment was scheduled for Thursday morning.
