COLUMBIA (11/24/24) – Firefighters in Adair County say two people are dead following a fire at a residence outside Columbia early Sunday morning. Firefighters responded to the scene to find the two-story home fully engulfed as well as a vehicle outside the residence. Firefighters later received information that two occupants of the home had not been accounted for. The bodies were discovered when firefighters entered the structure. One firefighter was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
