Police Pursuit In Hodgenville Ends With Suspect Shooting Himself In Standoff


HODGENVILLE (07/05/24) – A high speed pursuit in Hodgenville Friday night ended with a wrecked vehicle, a standoff with police and the suspect hospitalized with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident began with a vehicle going 40 miles an hour over the posted limit, refusing to stop for police and fleeing into downtown Hodgenville, where the vehicle wrecked and the suspect fleeing on foot, firing at officers. He was located in a nearby creek, pointing a gun at his head. Efforts to negotiate a surrender ended with the suspect shooting himself. He was taken to Baptist Health Hardin. The man’s name was not released as of Saturday. No officers were hurt in the incident.
