LEITCHFIELD – A Leitchfield man has died after suffering a possible medical emergency prior to crashing into a tree. Emergency crews were called around 9:40 pm Saturday (4/20) night to a report of a single vehicle accident in the 400 block of Hendricks Street.
Upon arriving at the scene first responders found a eastbound Ford Taurus operated by 55 year-old Charles Green had left the road and struck a tree head -on at the bottom of a hill. Green was taken to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center by EMS before being airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where he died from his injuries. Police believe that Green may have suffered a medical event leading to the accident.
In February, Green had a similar accident in the same area after suffering a possible medical event.
