Road Work Planned For Hancock, Ohio Counties This Week

MADISONVILLE (03/31/24) – The Madisonville office of the Kentucky Department of Highways announced this week that crews will be involved in several road improvements projects in both Hancock and Ohio Counties…

Hancock County—On Monday crews will be conducting bridge deck cleaning on various roadways and doing preparation work for a culvert replacement between the six and seven mile markers on KY 1389. Lane restriction should be expected. On Tuesday KY 1389 will be closed between the six and seven mile markers from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to complete culvert replacement. On Wednesday KYTC will make culvert repairs at the 16 mile marker of KY 334. On Thursday, crews will be ditching US 60 between the three and four mile markers with lane restrictions possible.. The week will wrap up with pothole patching at various places along KY 60, KY 69 and KY 1389, and brush removal on KY 2181, KY 144, KY 69, KY 1265 and KY 1700. Lane restrictions are possible.

Ohio County—Crews will be handling brush removal on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday along KY 261 and ditching on KY 1414 with lane restriction possible. On Thursday brush removal will continue on KY 261, along with portions of KY 1164 with lane restrictions and flaggers, while pothole patching will be carried out on US 231, KY 1165, KY 54, KY 6117 and KY 2671. On Friday pothole patching will continue on KY 54 and KY 69, while ditching operations will move to KY 54 between the zero and one mile mark. Lane restrictions and flaggers should be expected.
