NASHVILLE (03/10/23) – UK Basketball has its SEC Tournament opener tonight in Nashville as they face Vanderbilt, a team that stunned the Wildcats in Lexington a week ago. The Commodores advanced with a 77-68 win over LSU on Thursday. Other winners were Tennessee, Mississippi State and Arkansas.
FRISCO, Tx. (03/09/23) – Western Kentucky’s basketball season is likely over after the Hilltoppers were eliminated from the Conference USA Tournament with a 75-51 loss to top-seeded Florida Atlantic. Dayvion McKnight scored 18 points for Western.
CHICAGO (03/09/23) – Indiana begins Big Ten Tournament play tonight in Chicago against Maryland. The Terps advanced with a 70-54 win over Minnesota. Other Thursday advancers were Rutgers, Ohio State and Penn State.
GREENSBORO, N.C. — North Carolina’s already shaky NCAA tournament hopes were dealt a damaging blow Thursday night in a 68-59 loss to No. 13 Virginia in the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament quarterfinals Thursday night. Other ACC winners were: Duke, Miami and Clemson.
WASHINGTON (03/09/23) – Patrick Ewing has been fired by his alma mater Georgetown after six seasons as basketball coach and only one NCAA Tournament appearance. The Hall of Famer who led the Hoyas to a title in 1984 could only muster 75 wins in his tenure as coach.
