Former Wildcats Murray, Labissiere Selected In NBA Draft First Round

NEW YORK-  The Denver Nuggets selected Kentucky shooting guard Jamal Murray with the 7th overall pick in the draft . The 19-year-old Murray is coming off a freshman season in which he averaged 20 points a game — the highest scoring average for a Wildcats player under coach John Calipari.

Former Wildcat Skal Labissiere was selected 28th by the Phoenix Suns, who also selected former UK guard Tyler Ulis with the fourth pick of the second round. Labissiere was later traded to Sacramento.

Former U-of-L center Chinanu Onuaku was taken seventh in the second round by the Houston Rockets.
