The Cloverport Board of Education held their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday evening at the Central Office. The Board approved a final payment of $48,943.15 to McNutt Construction for the gym renovation project. They also approved submitting the BG-4 form to the Kentucky State Department of Education, which states that the project is complete.
The Board approved a bid of $15,261.53 by DC+ of Hardinsburg for equipment and labor to improve the capabilities of the school’s computer servers. The Board also approved the 2012/13 District Technology Plan.
The Board authorized the submission of the Adult Education Grant of $148,492.
Board chairman Lisa Hawley did not attend last night’s meeting. As a result, the Board did not enter a closed session to discuss negotiations of Superintendent Dr. John Millay’s contract.
In personnel matters, Dr. Millay announced the resignation of science teacher Tim Voyles. Voyles was then hired as an instructional assistant. Family medical leave for Brooke Gibson was extended until March 5. Patrick DeJour, Desiree Gritton, and Andrea Brown have been hired as ACE Academy substitute workers. Sherri Merrifield, Director of School Services and Instruction said that approximately 40 students are attending the after school ACE Academy on a daily basis.
