Irvington man fatally injured in a head on collision
02/16/2012---An Irvington man has died as a result of a two vehicle accident on US 60 Thursday.
At around 10:10 Thursday morning, a two vehicle motor vehicle collision was reported near the Sinking Creek Bridge on US 60 west of Irvington. Bobby J. Tindell age 42 of Irvington was traveling east on US 60 in a 1999 Chevy 2500 pickup. Robert C. Frye age 38 of Richmond was traveling west on US 60 in a 2011 International straight box truck. The Chevy pickup for unknown reasons crossed the center line into the westbound lane of US 60 and struck the front of the International box truck. Both drivers were transported to Breckinridge Memorial by the Breckinridge County Ambulance Service. Tindell who was not wearing his seatbelt was pronounced dead at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. Frye who was wearing his seatbelt was not injured. The collision is being investigated by Trooper Curtis Mouser, KSP Post 4. Also at the scene assisting was Sheriff Todd Pate and Deputy Virgil Phillips, Breckinridge Sheriff’s Office, Officer Brad Hale Irvington City Police, Irvington Fire and Rescue, and Breck Central Ambulance Service. US 60 was closed for several hours.
