Breckinridge Fiscal Court


5/23/2016—Magistrates approved the first reading of the 2016/17 budget ordinance at the regular meeting of Breckinridge Fiscal Court Monday afternoon.  The total budget is $8,839,305.66.  First District Magistrate James Henning made a motion to approve a 25 cent per hour pay increase for county employees, but the motion died for the lack of a second.  Judge Executive

Local Athletes Participate In Regional Special Olympics


(05/21/16)- Ten athletes from Breckinridge County competed in the Area 4 regional Special Olympics held recently in Louisville. This is the first time Breckinridge County has participated in the Special Olympics for several years.

Cloverport Board of Education


5/19/2016—The Cloverport Board of Education approved the 2016/17 tentative budget at their regular meeting Thursday evening.  The total budget is $3,019,138.75.  In a related matter, the Board approved the transfer of $17,102 from capital funds to the general fund.  They also approved next year’s school accounts, which total $14,200.

Stith Wins State Senate Primary


(05/17/16)- Leslie J. Stith won the Democrat nomination in the 5th District State Senate Primary on Tuesday (05/17), defeating Ricky Alvey, 5,470 votes to Alvey's 4,990.
