06/12/2013 The Grayson County Sheriff's Dept. is asking the public to help find a Caneyville woman that has been missing since Tuesday, June 4. Grayson County Sheriff Rick Clemons said Melvia Roarx, 28, left her mother and four children a week ago Tuesday night to go to the Horse Branch General Store. Clemons said their investigation showed this was the last time Roarx was seen, around 8:00 p.m. purchasing drinks at the store. Roarx fiancée, Jamie Cecil, and her mother made a missing person’s report with the Grayson Co. Sheriff's Office on Thursday, June 6,. Clemons said when he ran the missing person’s report and entered her vehicle into the system they received a Delayed Hit, which means the vehicle was found abandoned.A Dodge Caravan belonging to Roarx was found by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet at the 109 mile marker of I-65 northbound with the windows down and the keys missing. Clemons said the Bullit County Sheriff’s Department checked the vehicle for anything suspicious. The Bullitt Co. Police searched the vehicle and the surrounding area of the vehicle and found nothing suspicious, and said the vehicle looked to be broken-down, with fluid leaking underneath. Sheriff Clemons said he has questioned friends and family in Grayson and Jefferson Counties and no one has seen nor heard from Roarx. Clemons said her family is certain that she would never run away and leave her four children, whose age’s range from 1 to 11.
Sheriff Clemons said Wednesday morning that his department is contacting the FBI to extend the search and said they are considering this to be an unusual missing person’s situation and is asking for the public’s help. Clemons also plans to work with media outlets in Louisville to ask for the publics help.
