Police Pursuit Of Stolen Vehicle Leaves One Dead In Oldham County

CAMPBELLSBURG (09/16/23) – A Louisville man is facing murder and other charges following a weekend police pursuit in Oldham County that led to a fatal collision. State Police say a trooper attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 71 near the 21 mile marker when the vehicle, later determined to be stolen, continued traveling south on I-71 at a high rate of speed. The fleeing vehicle exited Interstate 71 at exit 14 and later struck a white GMC SUV that was traveling north on Kentucky Highway 329, leaving a passenger dead and the driver injured. The operator of the fleeing vehicle was taken into custody and identified as 23-year-old Tymetrius Walter. Walter is also charged with assault, wanton endangerment and other counts.
