Workers Attacked At Bowling Green Juvenile Detention Facility; No Serious Injuries

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — State officials say three youths attacked workers at a juvenile detention center in Bowling Green. It’s the latest violent outburst in a system being overhauled by the governor. State officials say the three youths kicked and punched staff during the Monday night attack at the Warren Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The state says one worker underwent “medical evaluation” for non-life-threatening injuries, while the youths didn’t sustain any injuries. Juvenile justice personnel quelled the attack without outside police intervention. The state-run system has been beset by violence, spurring actions by Gov. Andy Beshear’s administration to shore up safety and overcome staffing shortages.
