Sports: McDowell Wins At Daytona; Top 25 Basketball; Berger Wins At Pebble Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Michael McDowell pulled ahead and won the Daytona 500 after Penske Racing teammates Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski wrecked on the final lap. McDowell was running third and didn’t lead a single lap until Keselowski unsuccessfully tried to pass Logano on the low side. It’s the first victory for McDowell in 358 career Cup Series starts.

UNDATED (02/14/21) — Third ranked Michigan returned to the court after an extended COVID layoff to win for the 14th time in 15 games, 67-59 over number 21 Wisconsin. DENVER (AP) — Anthony Davis hobbled from the court after appearing to re-aggravate his sore right Achilles in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 122-105 loss to the Nuggets in Denver. PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Daniel Berger won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a 30-foot eagle on the final hole. That gave him a two-shot victory over Maverick McNealey. Third-round leader Jordan Spieth fell behind early and never caught up in a bid to end his long victory drought.
