FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky’s governor says people should avoid large Thanksgiving gatherings to help contain the coronavirus. Gov. Andy Beshear says the guidance includes limiting in-person get-togethers to those residing in the same house. The governor acknowledged Tuesday that the health guidelines are tough to swallow. But he says the recommendations can save lives at a time when Kentucky is struggling with its worst COVID-19 surge. The Thanksgiving guidance came as Beshear reported 2,120 new virus cases. That’s the state’s highest total for a Tuesday and its fifth-highest day overall. He also reported 14 more virus-related deaths.
