Kentucky Presents Back-To-School Coronavirus Monitoring Plan

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has announced 342 new cases and five additional deaths from the coronavirus. The Bluegrass State now has a total of 57,282 cases and more than 1,000 death as of Monday. Cases are expected to rise later in the week due to testing and reporting delays. The governor also declared that he will not make further recommendations for school re-opening. School districts will be encouraged to use new virus monitoring guidelines announced Monday. For example, school districts classified as “red” or “orange” with high testing positivity rates will be highly encouraged to halt in-person instruction.
