UNDATED (04/21/20) — The two local school districts are now moving forward following the decision to cancel in-person classes for the remainder of the academic year.

In a YouTube post released on Tuesday (see below), County Schools Superintendent Dr. Nick Carter says the district is evaluating plans for dealing with issues such as the BCHS Prom and Graduation and Class Promotions. He says their mission is to provide a positive experience for students while following state and federal guidelines aimed at limiting exposure to COVID-19.

(Carter addresses end of school year at approximately 1:30 into the video; BCHS Principal Adam Cox addressed graduation around 5:45.)

The Cloverport Independent Schools said in postings on their Facebook page and the District website that all school activities for the remainder of the academic year have been cancelled. They are seeking input from parents of seniors regarding graduation with a survey linked on the district’s website.

Governor Beshear moved to close schools for the rest of the year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. District will use NTI days to complete course work for the year. The last day for Cloverport Schools will be May 6th, with Breckinridge County final NTI day set for May 13th.
