HARDINSBURG (03/28/20, 12:30pm) — The Breckinridge County Health Department has announced a second positive case of COVID-19/Coronavirus in the County.

In a statement released and social media posting, the patient is a 76-year-old male who was tested on Thursday.

As with the first identified case on Friday, Federal laws prohibit identifying the patient. However, the statement issued Saturday indicates the patient is at home in isolation and is doing well.  Contact reporting and investigation is ongoing at this time and they will continue to monitor the patient throughout the entire isolation period.

The Health Department says more testing is on-going, and it is likely that additional cases will be reported. Health officials continue to ask residents to remain calm, practice good hygiene and social distancing and avoid any unnecessary travel.

Anyone who feels that they may have the virus or needs more information may call the state hotline at 1-800-722-5725 or a local hotline during the day at 270-756-6548.
