A single vehicle accident sent one person to the hospital just after 12:30 Thursday afternoon. According to Chief Deputy Bruce Anthony with the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, 51-year-old Lori Dowell of Hardinsburg was travelling eastbound on Highway 86 when she lost control of her 2005 Buick Century in a curve, left the roadway and struck a tree and a utility pole. Dowell was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Breck Central EMS with non-life threatening injuries. The roadway was closed for about three hours, as Brandenburg Telephone Company crews replaced a broken pole and cleared lines from the highway. Custer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
