Firefighters were called to the scene of a combine fire Thursday (09/26) afternoon. According to Fire Chief David Poole, McDaniels and Harned Fire Departments responded to the fire on Laurel Branch Road, off Highway 110, at 12:17. When units arrived, flames were seen coming from the engine compartment. The fire was brought under control without spreading to the field. There were no injuries. The combine, owned by Danny O’Donoghue, received substantial damage. Hardinsburg Fire Department was also requested, but were cancelled while en route.
