FORDSVILLE (07/18/19) — Authorities in Ohio County are investigating a break-in at the Pleasant Grove Church near Fordsville from earlier in the week.

According to a post on the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page, suspects broke into the church on Askin Road late Tuesday (07/16) or early Wednesday (07/17), opening food and pouring it onto the floor and causing other damage, including pouring juice into the HVAC, emptying a fire extinguisher and stealing a Bible.

A statement indicates a witness observed a smaller statured person wearing military style desert camo clothing with a black backpack was walking north on Askin Road near the church around 6:30 Wednesday morning.

Another person in the area that afternoon advised that there were two people walking in the area on Highway 110, just across the Breckenridge County line. They advised that one was wearing a black baseball style hat, longer hair, maroon cutoff shirt (no sleeves and mid-section cut), and black shorts. The other was wearing a black shirt and black shorts. Both were picked up by a navy blue 4-door truck.

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department at (270)298-4444 or their Anonymous Tip Line at (270) 298-4446.
