LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — The next stop in the Triple Crown chase is the Preakness, though Maximum Security is no longer in contention for horse racing’s ultimate prize. Owner Gary West is unsure whether he’ll even enter his horse in the Preakness as he ponders appealing the disqualification. The process could extend well beyond the May 18 race in Baltimore.

LOUISVILLE (AP) — Meanwhile, Country House trainer Bill Mott says the horse came through Saturday’s race in good shape, but remained non-committal over running in the Preakness, saying it would be the colt’s fourth race in eight weeks if he were to run.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Bettors who wagered on Maximum Security in the Kentucky Derby only to see the colt get disqualified for interference will receive refunds. Churchill Downs’ online wagering service tweeted that it will give back up to $10 to anyone who bet on Maximum Security to win in Saturday’s Derby. The disqualification cost bettors about $9 million.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Kawhi Leonard poured in 39 points and the Toronto Raptors evened the NBA’s Eastern Conference semifinal series at two games apiece with a 101-96 victory at Philadelphia. Leonard shot 5-for-7 from beyond the arc and hit a 3-pointer that put the Raptors ahead with 61 seconds remaining.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Jamal Murray led all scorers with 34 points and made all 11 free throws for the Denver Nuggets, who handed Portland its first home loss of the postseason in a 116-112 result that ties the Western Conference series at two games each. CJ McCollum had 29 points and Damien Lillard added 28 for the Blazers.

UNDATED (05/05/19) — The Cincinnati Reds again squandered an early lead as San Francisco rallied from a 4-0 deficit to win 6-5. The Cubs topped St. Louis, 13-5. Other National League winners were: San Diego, Colorado, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Atlanta. American League winners were: Houston, the Yankees, Boston, Seattle, Detroit and Texas.

DOVER, Del. (AP) — The NASCAR Cup race at Dover International Speedway has been postponed by rain and will be run on Monday. Dover hasn’t held a Monday race since 2007. Chase Elliott has the pole for the race that will start just Noon Eastern time.
