TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Baylor coughed up a 17-point lead and lost star forward Lauren Cox before earning an 82-81 victory over Notre Dame to win the NCAA women’s basketball championship at Tampa. Chloe Jackson had 26 points and provided the tiebreaking layup with 3.9 seconds left. The Irish missed the first of two free throws.

UNDATED (AP) — The Houston Rockets drained 27 3s in a 149-113 blowout win over the Suns. Eric Gordon led the 3-point barrage by tying a career high with eight. James Harden added five treys and scored 30 points in just three quarters. UNDATED (AP) — The New York Yankees banged out seven home runs and completed a three-game sweep with a 15-3 thrashing of the Orioles in Baltimore. The seven home runs are the most by the Yanks in a road game since May 30, 1961 at Fenway Park. Other American League winners were: Seattle, Houston, Cleveland, Detroit, the Angels, Tampa Bay and Boston.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (AP) — Kyle Busch passed his older brother, Kurt, on the final restart to win Sunday’s NASCAR race at Bristol Motor Speedway. The Busch Brothers were first in line not to pit for tires during the 11th caution to set up a final shootout between Bristol’s two winningest active drivers.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Corey Conners has become the first Monday qualifier since 2010 to win a PGA event. Conners claimed his first PGA Tour victory and earned an invite to the Masters by capturing the Valero Texas Open. He made three birdies in the final five holes, shooting a 6-under 66 for a 20-under total.
