UNDATED (02/12/19) — The high school basketball season has reached the final week of the regular season as the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers host Central Hardin tonight. Coverage on 104.3, the River begins around 6:45 ahead of the scheduled 7pm start. Other action tonight has the Cloverport Aces and Lady Aces against Butler County. The Lady Aces won last night, defeating Fort Knox, 48-43.

CLOVERPORT (02/11/19) — The schedule is now set for the 11th District Tournament next week at the Cloverport Sportscenter. The Fighting Tigers will be the number one and face Cloverport in Tuesday (02/19)’s boys semifinals with Meade County and Hancock County in other game. Same schools play each other Monday (02/18)night in the girls semis. The girls final is Thursday (02/20) night with the boys final on Friday (02/21).

UNDATED (AP) — Tennessee remains No. 1 in The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll despite Duke earning the top overall seed in the NCAA’s initial rankings for March Madness. Kentucky is 5th in the poll, Louisville is 16th. The Wildcats take on LSU tonight.

UNDATED (02/11/19) — In the top 25 from Monday night, 4th-ranked Virginia rebounded from their loss to Duke over the weekend with a 69-61 win over number eight North Carolina. 14th-ranked Kansas needed overtime to beat TCU, 82-77.

UNDATED (AP) — The Milwaukee Bucks continue to maintain a one-game lead over Toronto for the top seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference after a 112-99 win over Chicago. Other NBA winners from Monday were: Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Houston, Minnesota, Oklahoma City and Denver.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) — Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and MLB first-round pick Kyler Murray says he will pursue a career in the NFL. Murray tweeted that he is firmly and fully committing his life and time to becoming an NFL quarterback, adding that football has been his love and passion his entire life. Murray was drafted ninth overall by the Oakland Athletics last June before throwing for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns for Oklahoma.

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Browns have signed running back Kareem Hunt, three months after he was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs. Hunt was placed on the NFL’s commissioner’s exempt list and dropped by the Chiefs after a video showed him pushing and kicking a woman the previous February. Hunt has sought treatment and counseling, but he could still be suspended by the league under its personal conduct policy.

 

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Phil Mickelson finished off a 7-under 65 to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and match the tournament record with his fifth victory. Mickelson had a three-shot lead over Paul Casey with two holes to play when it was too dark too finish Sunday night because of delays from rain and a hail storm.
