According to Deputy Tyler Hardin with the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, three people were transported to a local hospital following an accident in Garfield Tuesday Morning. The accident occurred on Highway 60 at about 11:37, when 58-year-old Sylvia Dowell of Hardinsburg was attempting to turn her Ford SUV from the westbound lane into the parking lot of Dowell’s Body Shop. Her vehicle was struck from the rear by a westbound Ford Taurus, driven by 22-year-old Jonathan Sanders of Hardinsburg. The rear of Sanders vehicle entered the eastbound lane and was then struck by an eastbound Subaru, driven by 71-year-old Linda Basham of Hardinsburg. All three drivers were transported to Breckinridge Memorial by Breck-Central EMS with non-life-threatening injuries. Irvington Police Department and Harned Fire Department assisted at the scene.
