ST. LOUIS (AP) — PJ Washington scored 18 points to lead Kentucky to a 62-49 win over Georgia in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals on Friday. The Wildcats take on Alabama in the semifnals later today at noon; WXBC’s coverage begins at 10:30 this morning. The Crimson Tide beat top seed Auburn, 81-63. Other games: Arkansas beat Florida, 80-72 and Tennessee beat Mississippi State, 62-59.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Justin Johnson scored seven straight points for Western Kentucky as the Hilltoppers fought past second-seeded Old Dominion 57-49 in the semifinals of the Conference-USA Tournament on Friday. Western Kentucky takes on Marshall (23-10) in the championship game later today.

UNDATED (03/10/18) — Top-ranked Virginia will face North Carolina in the ACC Tournament final tonight in Brooklyn, while Villanova plays Providence in the Big East Final. The Big 12 Tournament title game will have ninth-ranked Kansas against number 18 West Virginia.

TORONTO (AP) — The Houston Rockets’ 17-game winning streak is over after Kyle Lowry provided 30 points and DeMar DeRozan chipped in 23 to lead Toronto to a 108-105 victory. The Rockets still own the NBA’s best record following the Golden State Warriors’ 125-108 loss at Portland. Other winners from last night were Indiana, Detroit, Utah, Milwaukee, Washington, Denver, Sacramento and the L.A. Clippers.

PALM HARBOR, Fla. (AP) — Rookie Corey Conners is the mid-point leader of the PGA’s Valspar Championship in Florida, but the story of the day was Tiger Woods, who led at one point during the day after four birdies during his second round. Woods is among a group of five golfers that are two shots behind Conners.

AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Martin Truex Jr. has won the pole for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at ISM Raceway near Phoenix. The defending series champion turned a lap at 136.945 mph for his 16th career pole, about 0.3 mph faster than Kyle Larson. Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman will start from the second row.

UNDATED (AP) — Two people familiar with the trade have told The Associated Press the Cleveland Browns have agreed to acquire quarterback Tyrod Taylor from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a third-round draft pick. The AP has also learned from two people familiar with another deal that the Miami Dolphins have agreed to send Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry to Cleveland.
