Fire Chief Raleigh Shelton reports that the Hardinsburg Fire Department is the recipient of a grant for $22,000 from the Department of Homeland Security. The funds will provide the department with new sets of firefighting gear. The Kentucky office of Homeland Security awards annual grants through a competitive application and review process. The grants build and strengthen preparedness capabilities at all levels through planning, equipment, and readiness. This makes the second consecutive year the fire department has been awarded this grant.
