(09/13/17)- The Breckinridge County Lady Tiger volleyball team picked up their 13th of the season with a three-set (20-25, 25-19, 25-10) victory at Edmonson County on Tuesday (09/12). The Cloverport Lady Aces lost to Hancock County in three sets (25-11, 25-12, 25-7). The Lady Tigers soccer game against McLean County was postponed until September 30th.
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — There will be pro football in Florida this weekend: both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jacksonville Jaguars say they will proceed home game this weekend, just a week after Huuricane Irma pounded the region. Tampa plays Chicago in what will be the season opener after their opening game with Miami was cancelled.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana will host Charleston Southern on Oct. 7, replacing this weekend’s game against Florida International that was canceled because of Hurricane Irma. FIU cancelled the game among other athletic events for the remainder of this week. The Hoosiers next play against Georgia Southern on Sept. 23.
COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Mississippi’s hearing with the NCAA’s infractions committee has ended after two days of meetings. Ole Miss athletics director Ross Bjork confirmed the hearing was finished on Tuesday, but had no further comment. The Rebels are facing 21 allegations, including 15 classified as Level I, which the NCAA deems the most serious. The charges in the wide-ranging case involve academic, recruiting and booster misconduct.
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians extended their winning streak to 20 games and matched the AL mark held by the 2002 Oakland Athletics, beating the Detroit Tigers 2-0 on Tuesday night. Corey Kluber strengthened his Cy Young Award case with a four-hitter for his 16th win of the season.

The Cubs stay two ahead of St. Louis, who beat the Reds, 13-4 and two-and-a-half games in front of Milwuakee, who beat Pittsburgh, 5-2.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Yasiel Puig hit a 2-run double and Clayton Kershaw won his 17th game of the year as the first-place Los Angeles Dodgers snapped an 11-game losing streak Tuesday night with a 5-3 win over the arch-rival San Francisco Giants. The Dodger losing streak had been the longest since the team relocated to Los Angeles from Brooklyn, New York, in 1958.
