Spring Fire Hazard Season Begins

Spring Fire Hazard Season begins in Kentucky today (2/15) until April 30. During the period, it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brushland areas between the daylight hours of 6 A.M. until 6 P.M..

The state law is intended to prevent forest fires by allowing outdoor burning after 6 P.M. when conditions are generally less likely to cause a wildfire to spread. If you plan to burn anything during the evening hours, call your local your fire department.
